1. Import Original SHP File from 4M
Open AutoCAD and access the Task Pane.
Navigate to Map Explorer within the Task Pane.
Import the original SHP file by selecting it and saving it with the project file name of your choice.
2. Save and Close
Save the file with the chosen project name.
Close the file.
3. Open Base Drawing Template
Open your base drawing template where you want to work on the layers.
4. Reopen Task Pane
Reopen the Task Pane and navigate back to the Map Explorer.
5. Attach Original File
Under the Map Explorer tab, click on "Add" and then "Okay" to attach the original file from the drawings file.
6. Run Query for Lines
With the file attached, you can now run a query on lines within the drawing.
After the query is executed, clear it.
7. Access Current Query Task Pane
Go to the "Current Query" task pane.
8. Choose Query Type
Under Query Type, select "Data."
9. Select Object Data
Choose "Object Data" from the options.
10. Set Default Table
Ensure that the default "Table" corresponds to your project name.
11. Specify Object Data Fields
Under Object Data Fields, select "s_sector".
12. Enter Sector Value
In the "Value" field, enter the sector name (e.g., "sewage").
Click "OK" to proceed.
13. Repeat the Process for All Layers
By following these steps, you can effectively separate layers in GIS files within AutoCAD. This process enables you to manage and work with specific layers according to your project requirements.
