The Utility Analytics Panel provides a high-level overview of utility data within any project.

It’s designed to give planners, engineers, and field teams a comprehensive view of subsurface infrastructure and associated utility assets, enabling better, faster, and safer decisions.

There are three main components you’ll see in the panel:

  1. Utility Lines Segmentation

  2. Utility Objects Segmentation

  3. Utility Ownership

Let’s walk through each section and what you can do with it.

Utility Line Segmentation

What It Shows:

This section summarizes the total mileage of utility lines mapped in your project area, segmented by:

  • Total Length

  • Underground vs. Aboveground

  • Utility Sector

Each utility type is color-coded and represented visually in a horizontal bar, giving you an instant sense of distribution across sectors.

How to Use It:

  • Quickly gauge which utility types dominate the project area.

  • Understand the depth context (underground vs. aboveground).

  • Use the Explore button to view line-level detail or jump into sector-specific lines for deeper insights.

Utility Objects Segmentation

What It Shows:

This section breaks down individual utility-related objects detected in the area, such as manholes, poles, inlets, hydrants, valves, pedestals, and more.

It includes a total object count and a breakdown by type to help you understand the physical infrastructure footprint on-site.

How to Use It:

  • Use this data to assess surface-level congestion and plan field logistics.

  • Click See Coverage to visualize where these objects are detected on the map, highlighting full vs. limited coverage areas.

Utility Ownership

What It Shows:

This section reveals how many distinct utility owners are the owners of the infrastructure within the project scope.

You’ll see:

  • A total count of utility owners

  • A bar chart showing how ownership is distributed across sectors (e.g., how many owners manage communication lines)

  • A legend identifying sector colors (Communication, Electricity, Water, etc.)

Clicking View List opens a more detailed Utility Insights Panel.

How to Use It:

Once inside the full panel, you can:

  • See the owner names by sector and sub-sector

  • View line lengths per owner

  • Click "Show Only" next to any utility to visualize its location on the map

  • Filter by sector using the chart

  • Search for a specific utility owner using the search bar

  • Toggle between underground and aboveground views in the Utility Sectors tab using the hamburger menu

  • Export the list of utility owners to a CSV file.

More Granular Line-Level Insights

By clicking on utility lines directly on the map, users can access detailed attributes, such as:

  • Utility Sector

  • Utility Owner

  • Elevation

  • Line Length

  • Line source

  • (When available) Material, Size, and Installation Date, and more.

This gives planners deeper visibility into the makeup of specific assets and helps with accurate coordination and risk assessments.
