How to measure your project
Understanding the project's scope is essential when considering a new infrastructure project. The Measure feature in 4M allows you to calculate the area of a defined space or measure the distance between one or more points to facilitate more precise planning, analysis, and execution. Follow the guide below to learn how to use the Measure features in 4M.
Step 1: Identify the area of your project on the map. You can do this by entering the address, places, and coordinates in the search bar at the top of the map.
Step 2: In the bottom-right corner, click on the ruler icon.
Step 3: Choose the linear or polygon drawing tools to measure your project.
Use the linear drawing tool to measure the length in miles between one or more points.
Use the polygon drawing tool to measure the area in acres of a defined space.
How to visually verify project surroundings
Street View is an excellent tool for validating your project's surroundings and identifying potential obstructions before deploying your field investigation teams, helping you save valuable time and resources.
Step 1: Open an existing project or create a new one, then zoom into the area you want to inspect visually.
Step 2: Click the Street View (footprint icon) in the bottom-right corner.
The streets will light up in blue on the map.
Step 3: Click on any part of the road you want to explore. This will expand the Street View in a pop-up window.
Step 4: In this window, use the control in the top-right corner to open the view to fullscreen and the controls in the bottom-right corner to rotate, tilt, zoom in, and zoom out.
